The recent news of Google and Bing putting realtime Tweets into their search results should set off some SEO alarms.
As an entrepreneur and self-proclaimed “online marketer”, I dabble a bit in SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
The simple change to the SEO world is this:
SEO for Realtime Search becomes more about frequency than actual content!
That is, if someone searches for your keyword phrase and gets results in real time, you want your content to show up as often as possible for that keyword phrase.
So how will this change the landscape? Only time will tell for sure. I can only assume the obvious though. More people will be posting their content through Twitter more frequently, for their target keywords.
Since it is fairly easy to set up automated Twitter accounts that post at a desired frequency, Twitter may be headed toward a bigger battle with spam than they thought.
